I am Toritseju Solomon, an author, speaker and founder whose work explores life, human connection, personal growth and the art of choosing yourself.

My perspective has been shaped by lived experience — by relationships, responsibilities, beginnings, endings and the moments that have required me to reconsider what I thought I understood about life.

Over time, I have come to appreciate that growth is rarely a straightforward journey.

Sometimes it arrives through achievement. At other times, it emerges through loss, uncertainty, solitude or the difficult decisions we make when something no longer feels aligned with who we are becoming.

I do not believe that understanding life requires us to have all the answers.

Sometimes, it begins with becoming more willing to ask ourselves the right questions.

Choosing yourself is not choosing against others.

For me, choosing yourself is not about placing your needs above everyone else's.

It is about recognising that love, compassion and responsibility should not require you to abandon yourself.

It is learning to acknowledge what an experience meant to you without allowing that experience to determine everything that comes next.

It is understanding that you can care deeply, remember fondly and still recognise when a chapter of your life has reached its natural conclusion.

This philosophy sits at the heart of my writing and reflections.

Not because I believe I have mastered it, but because I understand how much courage it can take to practise.

WRITING FROM EXPERIENCE

My memoir, Choosing Me, grew from a deeply personal journey of reflection.

Through experiences involving love, loss, relationships, fatherhood and personal transformation, the book explores the choices that shape our lives and the moments when we begin to recognise the importance of remaining connected to ourselves.

Writing it was not simply an opportunity to revisit the past.

It was an opportunity to understand it differently.

And perhaps, in sharing parts of that journey, to offer others a perspective through which they might better understand their own.
